  • Synthesis and structurey of novel organolanthanide complexes as well as new methods for synthesis of organolanthanide complexes, such as new strategy for modification of cyclopentadienyl ligands in organometallic chemistry

  • Reaction chemistry of organolanthanide complexes and their applications.

  • New methodology for synthesis of organic compounds based on lanthanide transformation reaction. For example, lanthanide-promoted formation and transformation of aromatic compounds, lanthanide-induced silyl radical reactions, and tandem activation of bi- and polyfunctional groups of organic molecules.

  • New organolanthanide-based catalytic systems for controllable polymerization and copolymerization of alkenes.


  • Won two second-class awards of Science and Technology Promotion Prize of National Education Ministry of China (1997), one first-class ward of Science and Technology Promotion Prize of Anhui Education Committee (1998) and one Third Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Promotion Prize (2005).

  • Won the titles of Shanghai Shuguang Scholar, the New Century Distinguished Scientist of National Education Ministry of China, excellent academic leaders of Shanghai, and so on.

  • Graduated from Huazhong Normal University, Chemistry Department, receiving the degree of Bachelor of Science in July 1986.

  • Finished the post-graduate course at Institute of Organic Chemistry, Anhui Normal University, receiving the degree of M. S. in July 1989.

  • Studied at Nanjing University, Coordination Chemistry Intitute for advanced study, receiving Doctor's degree in Jul. 1996.

  • Jul. 1989 to Aug. 1996, worked as a teacher in charge of teaching postgraduate students and doing research in institute of Organic Chemistry, Anhui Normal University. In the position I started as an instructor, and was later elevated as an associate professor.

  • Aug. 1996 to May, 1998, worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Fudan University, Department of Chemistry.

  • June, 1998 to Dec. 2000, worked in Fudan University as an associate professor.

  • December 2000 to present, worked in Fudan university as a professor.
